Queer love
God,
Thank you that you are a God of the seekers, the disillusioned, the worn down, burnt out, the rejected.
Thank you that you are a God of non- binaries. A God of paradox. We are already whole yet utterly broken. full of hope and despair. helpless and needy yet strong and full of agency.
We confess the ways we try to make you small and understandable. To fit you into categories. Thank you for queer theology and how it expands our understanding of who you are and who we are and who we are becoming. Thank you that the story you are writing is a story of renewal and transformation. May we grow comfortable with our own lack of understanding. May we expect that knowing you is knowing a life of expansion.
Yahweh, Thank you that you are a God of love. God we mourn the cultural obsession with regulating, disciplining, and closeting love.
We ask for protection of our souls from the hateful forces of this world. We ask for the fortitude to undertake the journey of living authentically. We ask for humility to learn and to be wrong, to understand new ways of being in this world. To do work that cultivates the expansiveness of love
May we know our bodies, know our wholeness, know ourselves, and know you.
Amen.
